An ambitious project to collect the shirts of all 18 teams of the 2021/22 Liga 1 Indonesia season
A few months ago, I was exploring my Twitter timeline when I saw this one particular tweet.
Wan Fakhrul Bakar, a media officer at the Football Association of Malaysia, managed to gather the shirts of all 12 teams participating in the 2021 Liga Super Malaysia season. He had managed to obtain at least one shirt from each of the 12 teams into his collection, creating a walking gallery of some sorts showcasing the designs that the 12 Liga Super teams are boasting for this year's recently-concluded league campaign.
This got me thinking - what if I do the same thing for this season's Liga 1 Indonesia?
Introducing the #Project18 - an ambitious project that would see me focus my shirt collecting efforts in obtaining shirts from this season's Liga 1. The project would see me buy one Liga 1 shirt from this season per month - two or three should the end-of-season discounts came into effect - and do a review on them in this blog. The review will discuss the clubs in-depth as well as provide insight into the philosophies that the clubs are trying to convey through their shirts.
Hopefully, this project would help non-Indonesians to understand Indonesian football better and appreciate them through the shirts that they're wearing this season. One of the reasons on why I established The Trinita Seat is to enable fans from all over the world to appreciate and admire Southeast Asian football shirt culture, and by giving a spotlight to the 2021 Liga 1 Indonesia shirts, I believe that I could introduce the shirts of Indonesian football to the footballing fraternity from not only other Southeast Asian nations but also the world.
0/18 shirts so far. Let the project begin.
